This policy explains information handling for howtomake.live. The publication responsible for this site can be contacted at contact@howtomake.live, including for privacy questions and requests. This policy is effective from 18 October 2026.
Visiting and searching the site
When you request a page, hosting and network providers process connection information needed to deliver and protect the service. This can include an IP address, requested resource, time, browser information and security-related records. Cloudflare provides delivery and security services and processes information under its applicable terms and privacy information.
The guide search filters article titles and descriptions in your browser. A submitted search may appear in the address bar as a query parameter and can therefore be part of a page request, browser history or technical record. Do not enter confidential information into a search field. Search terms are not intentionally included in our statistical page-view events.
The copy-link control uses your browser’s clipboard function when you press it. It copies the guide’s canonical address. Your browser controls access to that function.
Correspondence
If you email the publication, your message, sender details and attachments are processed to respond, investigate an issue or handle a request. Do not send information that is unnecessary for the enquiry. Email and delivery providers process messages as needed to transmit and store them.
Correspondence is kept for the period reasonably needed for the enquiry, related follow-up and applicable record-keeping obligations. We do not promise a fixed deletion interval for every kind of message. You can ask about the information connected with your correspondence through the contact address.
Visit measurement and preferences
We may use Google Analytics to understand how readers use the site. Where active, its statistical configuration is intended to measure visits and page use rather than collect the contents of personal correspondence or search fields. Page-view addresses are reduced to the page path, excluding query strings and fragments from the event sent by our configuration.
The site provides measurement preferences through its footer controls when measurement is active. Depending on the visitor’s location and the applicable configuration, measurement may wait for permission or operate with an option to turn it off. Choosing to disable it prevents further Google Analytics events from this site’s measurement controller and removes accessible associated analytics cookies where possible.
The preference itself can be stored in the browser so the site remembers the choice. Browser settings, private browsing, clearing storage or using another device can change which preference is available. A Google Analytics choice does not automatically disable Cloudflare’s independent delivery, security or aggregate traffic services.
Our Google tag configuration denies advertising-storage, advertising-user-data and advertising-personalisation permissions and is intended to use restricted statistical measurement. The existence of a browser control does not change the information a third-party service must process to provide its own service.
Cookies, advertising and commercial links
Cookies and similar browser storage can be used for preferences, measurement and, where applicable, commercial services. Additional advertising or embedded services can introduce their own data handling. When such services require a choice or disclosure, the relevant controls and information must accompany their use.
An affiliate or other external commercial link takes you to a separate provider. That provider may record the referral and process information under its own policy. We may receive an eligible commission or aggregated reporting associated with a commercial relationship. A disclosure near the relevant link explains that relationship where applicable.
If you choose to buy a product or use another service, inspect the destination’s privacy and purchase terms. Account information, payment and fulfilment are handled by the provider identified in that transaction. Do not assume a platform’s account, cookies or settings are controlled by this publication.
Purposes, sharing and international processing
Information is used to deliver and secure the site, understand its use where measurement is active, handle correspondence and meet applicable obligations. The legal basis depends on the activity and relevant law: it can include consent, necessary service delivery, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the publication, or a legal obligation.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable contractual and legal safeguards depend on the service and processing involved. Relevant provider information includes Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google's privacy information.
Access is limited to people and providers who need information for the relevant purpose, subject to applicable obligations. Information may also need to be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address an actual security or legal issue. No system can promise absolute security, but reasonable safeguards should match the information and service involved.
Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent or request portability. Use the contact address and describe the request. We may need enough information to identify the relevant record and verify that the request concerns you.
Withdrawing permission affects future processing based on that permission; it does not automatically undo processing already carried out lawfully. Some records may need to be retained for a continuing legal or operational reason. Where a request cannot be fulfilled as asked, the applicable reason should be explained.
You may also contact the privacy authority responsible for your jurisdiction where the law provides that route. The site is intended as a general informational publication, not a place to submit personal information about children or other people. If such information is sent unnecessarily, contact us about its handling.
